I am honored and excited to take the helm of Arizona Connected Care as chief executive officer at this exciting point in our development. Our first two years were focused on establishing our network of primary care physicians and specialists while strengthening ties with our member hospital. We’re proud to now be the largest organization of primary care providers … and cardiologists … in our region.
Medicare and Medicare Advantage contracts provided our foundation, but we also have commercial contracts with UnitedHealthcare and Cigna, with others anticipated this year. This allows us to offer our approach to health care—with its focus on preventive care, chronic disease management and transition assistance when patients leave the hospital—to more patients through our member providers – and improve the health of our patients.
We are also working to expand our network of physicians and other providers as well as affiliated organizations, including skilled nursing facilities and urgent care centers. They are joining with us in our efforts to provide proactive quality care and strengthen communications between and among all health care providers.
We’ve demonstrated that our comprehensive approach to health care is making a difference in the terms of patient satisfaction, the health of our community and in driving down projected increases in health care costs. As a retired surgeon who also was part of my family’s business for many years, I am pleased to be part of this effort as we set the standard for quality care and offer it to more patients from Marana to Nogales.
Daniel McCabe, M.D.
